Common Questions

Before you book.

What is the most popular hunting package?

Our most popular package is a 3-day hunt with 3 morning hunts and 2 afternoon hunts, plus lodging and meals (no lunch on departing day). Most species can be combined into a multi-day stay.

Can I combine different hunts?

Yes. Most of our packages can be combined into multi-day hunts. Duck plus pheasant, dove plus dove, deer plus a morning duck hunt — we'll build a package that fits the time you have.

Are lodging and meals included?

Yes — full-service is the standard. Almost every package includes lodging at the Big Honker Lodge and three meals a day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). Specific inclusions vary by hunt; we'll spell it out when you reach out.

How many hunters can the lodge accommodate?

The Big Honker Lodge sleeps up to 60 hunters across nine bunk rooms in four buildings — perfect for groups of any size, from a four-man trip to a corporate retreat or family reunion.

Do I need a Texas hunting license?

Yes — every guest needs a valid Texas hunting license, plus any species-specific stamps (federal duck stamp for waterfowl, etc.). Licenses can be purchased online or in person; we'll send instructions when you book.

What's the deposit and cancellation policy?

Please call the lodge for current deposit and cancellation policy details — we work with groups on a case-by-case basis depending on the hunt, the season, and the size of the party.

Do you host corporate groups?

Yes — the lodge is built for them. Our private setting and 60-person capacity make us a favorite for corporate retreats, fraternity reunions, and big family trips. Reach out and we'll build a package around your group.

Can non-hunters come along?

Absolutely. We've hosted plenty of spouses, kids, and friends who just come for the lodge and the meals. Call us and we'll quote a non-hunter rate.

What's the deer-hunt shot opportunity?

100% shot opportunity on whitetail deer hunts the past five years running, with bucks running 130 to 160 class.
